Parents of athletes can now go to the CDC Foundation site “Heads Up to Parents” to find information about concussions and other serious brain injuries.
NOCSAE and the CDC have launched a website www.cdcfoundation.org/HeadsUp and an associated “app” to help parents gain knowledge regarding concussion prevention.
The article released by NOCSAE notes that “170,000 young athletes go to local emergency departments each year for suspected sports-or recreation-related traumatic brain injury, including concussions”. This partnership is designed to inform parents, coaches, and others about prevention and recognition of head injuries.
